About Our Program

Basic Information

The English and Communications program at Ivy Tech helps to form the foundation upon which students may build their educations. With a dedicated cadre of adjunct and full-time faculty, our program provides an education comparable to that of a 4 year institution.

Degrees

While we offer core courses relevant to all majors, we also have a 2 year degree (AA/AS) in English. This degree allows students to pursue a focused liberal arts program that transfers to 4 year institutions. The following link details the requirements for the degree.

·       Liberal Arts Degree - English (currently undergoing review - please contact Sean C. Smith for more information)

Courses Offered

Our program offers basic core courses such as English Composition and Speech. We also offer courses in Literature (World/British/American), Creative Writing, and Voice and Articulation, among others. Courses descriptions and current offerings can be found through Campus Connect.
