:: Introduction
As part of the the Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana - Evansville Arts and Design Week 2005 activities, a new LEGOŽ competition was created to complement the already popular LEGO Robotics competition for middle and high school students.
The competition is designed to spark interest in Evansville history, the preservation of historic buildings, and LEGO building. Interested participants attend a two-hour orientation to the competition where they learn the competition rules and specifications, how to locate historic sites within the Evansville area, how to build both real and virtual LEGO models, where to purchase LEGO bricks and elements, and where to find online resources.
Individuals or teams register to compete and then are given 3 or more months to select, design and build their creations. The creations are then featured during the Arts and Design week. At the end of the Arts and Design week, a group of judges will then select design winners in specific categories (TBD).
