Dr. James Powell Biographical Information Dr. James Powell is currently Chair of General Education (Liberal Arts and Sciences) and Professor of Chemistry at the Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana (Region 2 - South Bend Campus). He graduated with a B. S. in Chemistry from the Rose-Hulman Institute in 1972 and a Ph. D. in Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame in 1983. Previously, he has held faculty positions at Notre Dame, St. Mary’s College (Notre Dame, Indiana), the University of Toledo, and Ancilla Domini College.

Dr. Powell is not presently teaching. All his work involves Liberal Arts and Sciences course and curriculum development and high-tech instructional methods and pedagogy.
