Prof. Desmond Gick

I am a graduate of Purdue’s School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management degree and a minor in Computer Science. After graduation, I worked for the federal government at the Jefferson Proving Grounds (Army ammunition testing center) in Madison, Indiana. I then accepted a teaching position with Ivy Tech at Kokomo’s regional campus. At this time the United States was still drafting recruits into the Army and I had to leave my position with Ivy Tech to satisfy this requirement. After leaving the Army, I relocated to South Bend and accepted another position with Ivy Tech lasting from 1971 until today.

I currently teach courses related to computer repair and networking. I have received the following certifications in the computer area:

CompTIA A+®
CompTIA Network+®
NetWare 4.0 Administration
NetWare 5.1 Administration

I am a member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals and am working with Purdue University South Bend to setup a student chapter for our campus.
