VEX Robotics Contest Playing
Field Construction - Fall 2007
This project requires the construction of 5 playing fields for
the VEX robotics contest to be held in November. The principle design
criteria are weight, rigidity, and ease of assembly. Each field will
be comprised of two 4' X 8' modules installed side by side to give a
carpeted playing surface that is 8' X 8'. Rails will also be
installed to provide containment of the robots and game balls.
Design has been completed and construction is underway. A prototype
of a single module has been completed to prove the design concept
and construction methods.
