Blackboard Browser Check

If you pass all checks listed below, you should be able to use the main features of Blackboard.

Please note: Some browsers may be listed as compatible by Blackboard. These browsers may work without issue, however you are cautioned that the browser may have undocumented problems that will affect Blackboard.

Due to the rapid release schedules of Firefox and Chrome, the newest releases of those browsers should be considered to be compatible with Blackboard.

Internet Explorer 7 is not supported by Blackboard 9.1 SP 7.

Check

If this check fails, you will need to enable Javascript for your browser.

Cookies
Check

If this check fails, you will need to enable Cookies for your browser.

Popup
Window
Check

If this check fails, you will need to enable Popup Windows for your browser.

You will also need to disable any browser toolbars that have popup blockers.

Port 80
Check

This check works by trying to download an image through the specified port. Port 80 is the standard web (http) port.
If this check fails you may need to lower your firewall or computer's security settings.

Java
Check

If you see nothing to the left (or just a gray box) then Java functionality is not available. If you see an image of the webpage, click the box to see if information on your Java installation is present.

The version of Java that Blackboard currently supports is 1.6.0_x (PC) or 1.5.0_x (Mac). Older versions may work, but if you're experiencing problems with Blackboard, you should update your Java Plug-in.

Blackboard 9.1 SP 7 does not support the use of Java Version 7 (1.7.0_x).
