These statistics were often calculated over many years, across states, by type of disability and/or across demographic characteristics." Users of the database may register or log in as "guest." Then you choose a general topic; right now, two are available for the ACS and Census 2000: Prevalance ("The percentage or number of persons reporting disabilities") and Employment ("The percentage or number of persons who are employed"). (In addition, Labor Market, Activity, Income and Poverty are available for the Current Populatino Survey.) In any of these cases, you are presented with a form that allows you to slice and dice data (e.g., by gender, geographically, time frame), and specify whether you want to see the data in bar chart or line graph format. You can also generate comparisons by gender and location and, additionally for the Employment topic, disability. Statistics are "calculated by the Cornell University Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (Cornell RRTC) using data from the Current Population Survey (CPS), which is conducted by the Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics."
